My Thoughts

The Tiptoe Guide to Tracking Mermaids is a picture book targeted towards children aged 3 to 8 years. Adding a dash of fantasy element can turn learning into a fun activity. Kids love mermaids, don’t they? So why don’t we use these mermaids to teach them about sea creatures.

With the turn of each page you will find the author introducing things you are likely to see on a beach. Sea shells, crabs, message in the bottle, she has it all covered. Interspersed with the pictures and facts are the mermaids who find some use for the things mentioned.

If you are planning a beach weekend with the young ones this book will help you prepare them for the wonders of the sea world. They can expect what they might find there, thus making the thing a learning experience. Be warned that you will have to answer the gazillion questions that might arise once they make their discoveries on the beach!

Highly recommended!
